Asianet Digital TV Network owned by Asianet Satellite Communication launched a new Smart Hybrid Set-Top Box in the market called The Asianet Magic Box. The new smart device is a hybrid set-top box which can be used to watch the channels through the cable connection as well as to stream contents from various applications such as Hotstar, Voot, SunNXt, etc.

Asianet Digital Network is one of the main Cable TV providers in South India mainly in Kerala. They are providing Digital Cable connection, Broadband, and Fiber Connections to its customers. It seems that all the DTH and Cable TV providers in the country are changing their strategies to focus on content streaming more. Last month Dish TV also launched Dish SMRT Stick to stream content on TV.

Now, Cable TV providers also introducing smart devices for their customers and Asianet Magic Box is the latest addition to the list.

Asianet Smart Magic Box Price

Asianet Smart Hybrid Magic Box is priced at Rs. 5,999/- All the new customers have to pay the amount in full, whereas the existing Asianet customers can get the new smart set-top box at Rs. 3,999/-. The discount of Rs. 2,000/- will be applicable to all the customers of Asianet Digital TV, Asianet Broadband, Asianet Giga Fibernet who are paying the subscription annually.

Smart Magic Box Features

As mentioned above, it is a hybrid device which can be used as a normal set-top box to watch the Digital Cable TV and at the same time, as a smart device like Tata Sky’s Binge service to watch streaming contents.

The device has an in-built cast facility which supports 4K resolution. It can be used like Chromecast to stream the contents from other smart devices like mobile or tablet to a TV screen. The smart hybrid box not only supports casting, its runs on Google’s Android TV Platform with an Ultra HD 4k Support.

Asianet Smart Magic Box is somehow similar to the Fire TV Stick, which supports, in-built playback along with the Screen Casting facility. Fire TV stick runs on Amazon’s Fire OS whereas Magic Box was built on Android Platform. Magic Box runs on Android 8 Platform and which support most of the Android application for the Android Box including Hotstar, Amazon Prime Videos, Sony Liv, Sun NXT, Google Photos, etc.

Coming to the quality side of the Asianet Smart Magic Box, it supports 4K Ultra High Definition quality with latest 4K HDR technology. As like other smart devices, the new device also requires a stable internet connection and is connected using a WiFi. To other smart sync option, the device is also provided with Bluetooth connectivity support.
