Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite was one of the Android One devices which got the latest Google Android 9 Pie update initially. Since the mobile being released under Android One program, the guaranteed Android updates were made available to this device also includes monthly security patch update and the major Android version updates.
The device was launched in July 2018 and was running on Android 8 Oreo. As guaranteed, the device received the monthly security patches every month between 20th to 25th. And in November 2018, the major update, ie. the Android 9 Pie also made available to the Mi A2 Lite devices all over the world.
Google used to release the security update at the beginning of every month and will soon be available on the pixel devices. Later on, the updates will be rolled out to other Android One devices that includes all the mobile from different manufacturers. The update was scheduled between 20th and 25th. However, the latest April 2019 update went little late.
Android One mobile includes Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite started receiving the April 2019 security patch update on April 27th and is available to download.
If the update is not being notified by the device, manually search for it. Just go to the setting and click on the System option. Then click on Advanced. From the list, click on System update. Then click on the Check for update button to manually search for the update.
If the update is available, it will be notified and you can download and install on the mobile. The April 2019 update for Mi A2 Lite is of size 243.6 MB. Once updated, the Android security patch level will be updated to 1 April 2019 which can be verified from the About section in the settings.
