Google started rolling out the new material design to Gmail web application also. Many people already received the new UI and it seems to be much attractive and modern. Google as like in the android, started to use the material layout in all their services. Recently they introduced the same within the YouTube mobile application and the Web application.
Now, Gmail also got the same style. The main feature is that, they incorporated the attachment highlighting feature that was available in Google Inbox. Now, the attachment can be seen just under each email, whether it is an image, document or anything.
One other change is the rounder highlight box, rather than the old boxed format, each and every item is now have a rounded edge, which is attractive. The compose button is now projected out with a colored plus icon.

Also, the font size is slightly increased and the style also changed, which helps us to find and read email easily. Another change is the incorporation of Google Calendar, Google Keep and Google Task section in the sidebar. These items can be find in the right side of the window.
In the email detail view area, the icons are re arranged and the style also changed. Sometimes, we may find difficulty to find the right option, since the position is slightly changed and we used to the old version, but that doesn’t make any issue, it will be fine in few days.
Overall, the design looks great and attractive and will be rolling out to all the users in the coming days. Once it will be available for you, a popup window will come up and ask you to try the new design. Just confirm it and experience the new design.
