Nintendo Switch is one of the popular gaming consoles like Playstation and Xbox. Nintendo got its popularity with the evergreen Mario games. Since Mario games are dedicated to the Nintendo Switch, game lovers used to purchase the console, even though they own a Playstation or an Xbox.
Nintendo eShop is Not Currently Available in Your Country
The main issue with Nintendo Switch is its availability. Nintendo is officially available in a few countries and not all regions. However, eCommerce websites like Amazon sell units in counties where Nintendo is not officially supported.
You can buy from that website and use the switch without issue. One problem you need to know is that since Nintendo is not officially launched in such regions, you won’t get a warranty and support on your device. However, you can also use the device and play games without issues.
However, many users might face one strange issue while downloading games on Nintendo Switch. The eShop is not working. While trying to download the games, users get the message “Nintendo eShop is Not Currently Available in Your Country”.
No need to worry; we can fix the Shop download issue. You need to follow the below steps and can fix the problem in a few clicks.
How to Fix Nintendo eShop Country Issue
The issue is that even though you set up your Nintendo Switch using any Region listed within the console, like ‘The America’, the eShop will be set automatically based on your IP address. So if you are setting up the device from an unsupported country, the eShop will be selected as the default country with your current location.
So, while downloading the game, the eShop will show the unsupported country error message. This can be fixed by changing your eShop account’s default region.
To change your Nintendo eShop account’s county, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Open the eShop account page on your browser. You can use a Mobile or a laptop browser.
Step 2: Sign in to your account using the Nintendo account details.
Step 3: Click the Edit button and your profile section on the account page.
Step 4: Now, you will see the Country/region of residence. You can change it to the United States or any Nintendo-supported country as per your choice. Optionally, you can set the timezone, too (not required).
Step 5: Once done, click on the Save Changes button, and you are done.
Step 6: Now open the eShop app on your Nintendo Switch. Now, it will ask you to enter the Nintendo password since you are using the eShop app for the first time.
Once done, you can browse and download any Nintendo games you choose.
