We all know pCloud is one of the most popular cloud storage services available now with their unique features. Now, a new cloud storage service is available, similar to pCloud called the Icedrive. But, before proceeding further, we would like to say that we cannot compare Icedrive with pCloud even though both have similarities. The main highlight of Ice drive is that they provide 10GB of free cloud storage which you can expand up to 1TB.
Icedrive is a new addition to the cloud storage service and is provided by a UK-based company, whereas pCloud comes with Swiss-based privacy protection. But what makes Icedrive attractive at the first look is its design. Its web app and mobile app follow the material design with a clean and attractive style.

Features of Icedrive Cloud Storage
Some of the main features of Icedrive includes:
1. Drive Mount For PC
Icedrive Windows application provides drive-based access in which the Icedrive storage will mount on the system like an external hard drive. However, the application will not utilize system storage to store and Sync files. Instead, all the files and folders added to the Icedrive cloud drive will be automatically synced to the cloud server. And the files will be accessible from the web and other mobile apps instantly.
2. Inbuilt Photo Viewer and Video Player
The Icedrive web and mobile app provide an inbuilt photo viewer and video player so that you can view any video files or images without the help of any 3rd party applications.
3. Sync between applications
It will sync files available on Icedrive storage with mobile and web apps simultaneously as other cloud storage. But from the experience, the sync speed of Icedrive is not as fast as expected. Hence the syncing speed is a bit disappointing when we compare it with pCloud where the service is speedy.
4. Icedrive Applications
Icedrive provides a web-based application along with a Windows application that provides a native drive feature. Icedrive also provides a mobile application, which is available for both Android and iOS.
Icedrive Plans and Pricing
IceDrive Plan details are not quickly available on their homepage. however, you can check the details here.
Icedrive basic plan provides 10GB of free cloud storage, whereas the paid pack in 3 options.
Icedrive Lite Plan – In this plan, users will get 150GB of cloud storage. IceDrive Lite plan comes with a yearly subscription of $19.99. No monthly subscription is available for Lite Plan.
Icedrive Pro Plan – In this plan, users will get 1TB storage. The monthly subscription of the Pro plan will cost $4.99, and the yearly subscription cost $49.99, where the cost per month is reduced to $4.17.
Icedrive Pro + Plan – The Pro Plus Plan will provide 5TB storage. The price for the plan is $17.99 if you subscribe to a monthly plan and $179.99 ($15/month) for the yearly plan.
With all the paid plans, IceDrive also offers a Client-Side encryption feature. If you wish to grab a lifetime deal, you can go for that too. Icedrive offers three lifetime programs.
The lifetime Lite Plan will cost $59, the Pro plan costs $149, and the Pro Plus Plan comes with $499.
Conclusion
As mentioned above, Icedrive has some similarities like pCloud that includes Native windows drive and the lifetime subscription, the monthly bandwidth rule, etc. However, we cannot compare both services together. pCloud has now made its presence in the market and has stable performance. However, Icedrive is still in the initial stage and the speed and sync of Icedrive are not at all good. But, with comparatively cheaper price, it’s worth trying Icedrive too.

Hi
I am a lifetime subscriber of Icedrive and would like to share my thoughts on it.
I would like to point out that Icedrive offers only 10GB free space now for new accounts.
They have a very long way to go to reach anywhere near the big guys like Onedrive, Google Drive, Dropbox and pCloud.
There are lots of basic function issues they need to fix.
Folder downloading is not possible on Icedrive, which is a huge problem.
Not possible to see folder details. (When you upload lots of files, most times the progress bar hangs and stops at some random percentage. So you’re not sure if all the files are uploaded or not. And without any option to check the folder details its headache at times)
When you try to rename files & folders, it won’t allow at times, may allow after you try multiple times.
Encrypted file option is good. But there are some issues in that too.
I know, they have only started this year.
But with lots of technical issues I don’t recommend them to be your main cloud storage.
They would require atleast one year more to stabilize every basic operations and run smoothly.
It’s good for your mobile backups (photos & videos) which are not that important.
But I DO NOT recommend them to store your important documents.
I think they have to reconsider their prices too, atleast until they gain more customers.
1 TB lifetime plan on Icedrive is 150$
2 TB plan on pCloud is 350$ which makes their 1 TB 175$ (though they do not have 1 TB plan, but still that’s what their plan value is)
And they always give offers too, like I got my 2TB LT pCloud plan for 245$, which makes 1 TB just 122.5$ which is cheaper than the IceDrive.
With crypto LT subscription my 1 TB pCloud plan values at 185$. Just 35$ more than Icedrive.
I would definitely go with pCloud as my primary backup solution as they are already established cloud providers.
Icedrive looks cool, their customer support is good and they are trying very hard to make a name in the competitive world of online storage solutions.
But when you need to trust you personal and sensitive documents its always better to choose the best out there.
