Kerala is about to get a new cable TV and broadband option. GTPL, one of India’s well-known cable and internet service providers, is entering the Kerala market very soon. And it is happening through a tie-up with a local name you may already know — Bhoomika Digital Cable Network.
What Is GTPL?
GTPL is a Gujarat-based company that provides cable TV, broadband, IP TV, and OTT services across India. It is one of the country’s leading cable TV and broadband distributors. Now, they are making their move into Kerala.
How Is This Happening?
GTPL has partnered with Bhoomika Digital Cable Network, a major cable TV service provider already active in Kerala. Through this partnership, GTPL will use Bhoomika’s existing distribution network to reach Kerala subscribers. The Kerala Cable TV Federation is also part of this arrangement.
What Will Subscribers Get?
Here is what is being offered to customers once the service rolls out:
- New HD Set-Top Boxes — All existing Bhoomika subscribers will receive the latest HD set-top boxes as part of the new service launch.
- Broadband — Internet services will be available along with the cable TV package.
- IP TV and OTT Access — Subscribers will be able to access IP TV and OTT platforms, all at reduced prices.
- Mobile and Multi-Screen Viewing — The service will also support viewing on mobile phones and other screens.
When Is It Starting?
The service is expected to go live by the 30th of this month. Existing Bhoomika subscribers will be the first to benefit, as they will be upgraded with new HD set-top boxes to kick off the launch.
The details were shared by E. Jayadev, Executive Director of Bhoomika Digital Services. Also present were Meridas (Chairman), P.R. Rijo (Managing Director), and Ralph Lilian (Technical Director) of Bhoomika Digital.
