It is now passed the final deadline from TRAI to implement the new rule for all the DTH and Cable TV network in India. By the end of 2018 TRAI gave the final notification to the Cable and DTH providers in India to migrate all their customers to the new plan as per the new rule for DTH and Cable TV.
Initially the deadline was set as December 28th and later it was extended to January 31st. TRAI also made it clear in another statement that the deadline will not be extended further. Now, the final deadline is also passed. If you did not choose the channels as per the new rule and you are still getting all your channels as like before, don’t think that it will be available as like for ever.
Last week TRAI informed all the providers that, those who didn’t choose the channels and hence not migrated to the new scheme should not get any paid channels from their current plan. In that case, all the paid channels will be stopped or removed from their package and only free channels will be available from February 7th onwards.

TRAI also asked the providers to give the users time till February 6th to choose their channels. For those who didn’t do that, will get time till February 6th, otherwise all the paid channels will be lost. Don’t get afraid that your connection will be canceled if you failed to migrate before February 6th.
There is no such issue, only thing that is going to happen is that, all your paid channels will be removed and you will only get free to air channels after that. Even after February 6th, you can choose the channels and pay for that. From that time onwards you will get all the selected paid channels.
