Redmi 6 Pro and Mi A2 Lite are two new models from Xiaomi which has been released recently. Even though both handsets are launched in the recent time with 2 months gaps, actually both mobile are same with some software based difference based on the region.

Mi A2 Lite is the global version of the Chinese version of Redmi 6 Pro. Again the same Redmi 6 Pro was now released in India on 5th of September with some minor changes. The Android One based Mi A2 Lite is not available in India too. Now let see the features and specification of the handset in common.

Common Features and Specifications of Mi A2 Lite and Redmi 6 Pro

The premium budget oriented handset comes at a price of Rs. 11,000/- for the 32GB variant and Rs. 13,000/- for the 64GB variant. 32GB variant comes with 3GB RAM and the 64GB with 4GB RAM. The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite is available in Black, Blue and Golden colour options.

The main highlight of the handset is its 5.84-inch Full HD+ Notch display with a resolution of 1080ร—2280 and with an aspect ratio of 19:9. The display also have a value of 432 PPI. The smartphone comes with dual-nano SIM support with a dedicated micro-SD card slot. The handset is powered by 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with 3GB and 4GB of RAM. The phone also comes with an inbuilt storage of 32GB/64GB which can be further expanded up to 256GB via micro-SD card.

Coming to the camera options, the handset features a dual camera setup on the back side with a 12-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel secondary camera with an LED Flash. On the front side, the handset is provided with a 5-megapixel camera. Talking about the connectivity options, the smartphone includes 3G and 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth, Infrared, USB OTG and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Onboard sensors include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, Compass/Magnetometer, Proximity sensor and Gyroscope. The handset is packed with a 4000mAh non removable battery.

Difference between Mi A2 Lite and Redmi 6 Pro

As seeing the specs of both handsets, its clear that both handset bears same specs and features. Actually both are same and only given different name depending on the region. However, when Redmi 6 Pro launched in India, it came with some changes when compared to the global version, which is Mi A2 Lite.

  • Redmi 6 Pro runs on MIUI 9 which is company’s own custom UI which is based on Android 8.1 Oreo, where as Mi A2 Lite comes under Google’s Android One Program, which is now running on Android 8.1 and soon will get Android 9 Pie update.
  • Redmi 6 Pro supports dual 4G VoLTE standby which is designed exclusively for India, where as Mi A2 Lite supports only single 4G at a time.
  • Redmi 6 Pro comes with Faceunlock feature, where as Faceunlock is missing in Mi A2 Lite. Both supports FingerPrint scanner.
  • Since Mi A2 Lite comes under Android One program, there is no blotware installed on the device as like in MIUI devices, Therefore the performance of the handset will be better on Mi A2 Lite.
