JioTV+, the live TV service available on Jio Set-Top Box for JioFiber and JioAirFiber users, has made a major change in how it works.
Until recently, customers could enjoy JioTV+ on their Jio Set-Top Box using not only JioFiber or JioAirFiber but also other internet connections. This meant that even if someone connected the box to another ISP (Internet Service Provider), the service continued without issues.
However, from yesterday onwards, JioTV+ has stopped working on non-Jio networks. Users who try to connect through another ISP are now seeing an error message. The app asks them to switch back to a JioFiber or JioAirFiber connection to continue using the service.
This move means that JioTV+ has now become an exclusive feature for customers who use Jio’s own internet services. Those depending on other ISPs will not be able to access live TV through JioTV+ anymore.
For many users, this comes as a sudden change, as the service had been working across networks for a long time. Jio has not yet issued an official statement on why the restriction was introduced.
