1. Update your firestick
Updating firestick’s OS is very much important. It is highly recommended everyone keep their eye on the latest software update. If you don’t update your firestick’s firmware, it is quite apparent to face issues like lagging. Every update comes with some improvements, and new features, so don’t feel shy to update your firestick’s firmware.
If you don’t know whether your firestick is running on the latest OS or not, go to the firestick’s settings > My fire TV > About there, and you will see each piece of information about your firestick’s firmware. If your device is running on an outdated version, it will show automatically to do an update.
2. Clear Cache From Firestick
It’s no brainer that cache does make your firestick run slow, so it’s better to delete them regularly. Otherwise, the cache data will become so big that it may result in poor performance. However, it is very easy to delete cache from firestick, and the best thing is you don’t need to take the help of any third-party app. First, you need to go to Settings >> Applications >> Manage Applications. Now there, you will see all your installed applications, and to delete the cache of each app, you need to select the apps one by one.
3. Reboot your firestick
You guys won’t believe but restarting firestick solves lots of problems. So, give this method a try, and for sure, you will notice a difference in terms of performance. Also, it is very easy to restart your firestick. Just follow the below steps to restart your firestick device.
- Go to your firestick’s settings.
- Click on the My Fire TV option.
- Click on the restart option.

4. Delete Apps that you don’t use
Firestick has only limited RAM and internal storage, and it is not a good thing to install thousands of apps on them. Since firestick has 2 GB of RAM only, it can not handle so many apps. So if you think that you have installed so many useless apps, then do thing uninstall them right away.
It is hell easy to uninstall apps from firestick, and you don’t need to take the help of any third-party apps. Just follow the below steps to delete useless apps from firestick.
- Go to Settings of your firestick
- Click on the Applications option.
- Now you need to click on Manage Applications.
- All you installed applications will appear there.
- Search for the application you no longer use and click on it.
- After clicking on it, click on the uninstall button.
- Now, firestick will take a few seconds to uninstall that application from firestick permanently.
- Once that is done, repeat the same steps for more apps (if you want to delete more apps).
5. Reset your Firestick
Resetting a firestick will solve thousands of your firestick problems because it will set your firestick back to its default settings. However, all your installed apps, files, data, images, etc., will be deleted permanently. So backup your important data before performing this method.
To reset your firestick go to Settings >> My Fire TV >> Reset to factory defaults. Resetting your firestick will take around 15-20 minutes.
