Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi launched a new smartphone which is the first smartphone with the new Snapdragon 710 processor, the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE. The smartphone is currently launched in china in three variants. The first one is 4GB RAM /64GB storage and the second one is 6GB RAM/64GB storage option and the last one is 6GB RAM/ 128GB variant. Even after the launch, the availability of the smartphone is not yet announced. The most downside of the new smartphone is that, the mobile is not provided with an SD card support, hence the memory cannot be expanded further.
Considering the price, the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE will be available at CNY 2,299 (approximately Rs. 23,100) for 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant, CNY 1,799 (approximately Rs. 18,900) for 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant and CNY 1,999 (approximately Rs. 21,100) is for the 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant.
Coming to the specifications, the new handset comes with a 5.88-inch AMOLED full-screen HD+ display with a resolution of 1080×2244 pixels and with 2.5D glass protection. The Xiaomi Mi 8 SE is powered by the 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 710 processor with 4GB/6B RAM and with Adreno 616 GPU. This mobile runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with company’s own MIUI 10 UI. The handset supports dual-SIM which accepts nano SIM on both slots. As mentioned above, the phone comes with 64GB and 128GB storage support with no SD card support.
Talking about the camera specifications, the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE comes with dual camera setup on the rear side, one with 12-megapixel rear sensor and another 5-megapixel senso. It includes features such as f/1.9 aperture, Bokeh mode, Portrait mode, monochrome temp flash, HDR adjustment, panorama mode, burst mode, facial recognition, dimming technology, EIS, and AI features like business card recognition, intelligent translation, and intelligent exchange rate conversion. On the front side, the handset is provided with a 20-megapixel camera sensor with AI background bokeh, smart beauty features built-in front soft light, automatic HDR, 4K video capture, and slow motion.
Coming to the connectivity option, the smartphone supports 4G VoLTE and includes Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, MIMO, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, VoLTE, and USB Type-C support. Onboard sensors include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass, gyroscope, infrared, and proximity sensor. The handset is packed with a 3120mAh battery that claims to offer 269 hours of standby, 108 hours of local music playback, 13 hours of video playback, and 7 hours of continuous gaming.
