Korean mobile manufacturer Samsung launched their first Android Go handset, the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core in the Indian Market. The new smartphone comes under the Android Go series however it is named under samsung’s existing Galaxy Code series.
The main highlights of the smartphone includes preloaded features such as Optimized Data Control and Ultra Data Saving. It also features a dedicated Beauty Mode for selfies. The Galaxy J2 Core will be available in India at a price of Rs. 6,190. The Samsung is going to start the sale in all retail stores and Samsung eShop from August 29. It will be available in Gold, Blue and Black colour options.
As per the specification, the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core supports dual-SIM that accepts Nano sim card. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) along with preloaded features including Optimised Data Control and Ultra Data Saving. The handset is featured by a 5-inch qHD TFT display with a resolution of 540×960 pixels. It is powered by a quad-core Exynos 7570 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM.
The Samsung Galaxy J2 Core provides an 8-megapixel rear camera along with an f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera. It also features a Beauty Mode that offers the users better portraits and selfies.
Coming to the storage options, the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core has 8GB of onboard storage that is expandable via microSD card. For connectivity, it includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/A-GPS, Micro-USB and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Onboard sensors include an accelerometer and a proximity sensor. There is no fingerprint sensor and Face Unlock functionality in the smartphone. The handset is powered by a 2,600mAh battery.
