Chinese mobile manufacturer Oppo has now been officially revealed their new smartphone in China, the Oppo R17. The latest handset comes days after the handset surfaced on TENAA and spotted in some early leaks. An in-display fingerprint sensor is the main highlight of the smartphone and also includes artificial intelligence (AI) supported dual rear camera. The Oppo R17 features 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It is available in Streamer Blue as well as Neon Purple color options. The Oppo has started taking pre-orders for the handset while they will begin sales on August 18. The price of Oppo R17 will be announced at the time of formal sale.
As per the specification, the Oppo R17 comes with dual-sim which can accept Nano sim card. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Oppo’s own ColorOS 5.2 on the top. It features a 6.4-inch full-HD+ display with a resolution of 1080×2280 pixels and 91.5 percent aspect ratio. The handset includes an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 processor, coupled with 8GB of RAM.
Coming to the camera option, the handset has a dual rear camera setup with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor paired with an LED flash. The front camera is featured by a 25-megapixel Sony IMX576 sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and supports Artificial Intelligence(AI)-backed portrait mode and other selfie-focused features.
The Oppo R17 comes with 128GB of onboard storage. For connectivity, the smartphone has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS and USB Type-C. Onboard sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light and a proximity sensor. As mentioned above, the smartphone also features an in-display fingerprint sensor. The Oppo R17 is packed with a 3500mAh battery that is powered by Oppo’s proprietary VOOC technology.
