Nokia 8 Sirocco Flagship Smartphone With Dual Rear Cameras and 6GB RAM Launched at MWC 2018

Nokia launched a new flagship phone, the Nokia 8 Sirocco last week in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018. The new mobile is the redesigned version of the Nokia 8 handset. The main highlight of the smartphone is its curved glass finish and the stainless steel frame which makes the handset more attractive. The handset also features a dual camera setup on the Rear side. The handset comes with stock Android OS and hence will get all the new updates before other handsets.

The Nokia 8 Sirocco will be available currently at a price of EUR 749 which is approximately Rs. 60,000 and will be available in Black colour variant only. The sale will start only in April. Currently there is no information regarding the availability of the handset in the Indian market.

The Nokia 8 Sirocco features a 5.5-inch QHD pOLED display with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels with 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The handset runs Android 8.0 Oreo. The mobile is powered by an 1.9 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The handset comes with an internal memory of 128GB and the memory cannot be further expanded via microSD card.

The smartphone comes with a dual camera setup on the rear side. It have a 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor on its primary rear camera, complete with an f/1.75 aperture and 1.4-micron pixels along with a 13-megapixel telephoto lens capable of providing 2x optical zoom, and featuring an f/2.6 aperture, and 1-micron pixels. The dual rear camera setup features a dual-tone LED flash as well as Zeiss optics. On the front side, the Nokia 8 Sirocco bears a 5-megapixel sensor paired with a fixed focus lens, f/2.0 aperture, and 1.4-micron pixels.

In case of connectivity options the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and NFC. Coming to the sensor options, the handset comes with set of sensors such as accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, digital compass, fingerprint sensor, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. It is also packed with a 3260mAh battery.
