Chinese smartphone company Meizu has launched their new smartphone – The Meizu MX5 in China on 30th June 2015. The smartphone will be available in 3 variant, 16GB model at a price of CNY 1799 (approximately Rs. 18,450), 32GB model at a price of CNY 1999 (approximately Rs. 20,500) and the 64GB model at a price of CNY 2399 (approximately Rs. 24,650). According to the company the MX5 smartphone will be available for pre-orders now and wil be available in retail stores in China on July 5. Meizu last week their Ubantu based smartphone, the MX4 last week in China also.
The MX5 features a 5.5 Inch full-HD Super Amoled display with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and a pixel density of 441ppi. The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The MX5 comes with a metal body finish also. The company also provided a home button which helps the user to operate the phone with single hand, it also act as fingerprint scanner. The smartphone is powered with a 2.2GHz, 64-bit Helio X10 octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM and PowerVR G6200 GPU. The handset supports dual SIM and it runs Android 5.0 Lollipop-based company’s own Flyme 4.5 OS.
The Meizu MX5 features a 20.7MP rear camera with Sony IMX220 Exmor RS BSI sensor, laser autofocus and dual tone LED flash and a secondary 5MP front facing camera. The rear camera can record videos at 4K resolution. In case of connectivity, the smartphone support 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, Glonass, and Micro-USB. The smartphone is packed with a 3150mAh battery and supports quick charging via the company’s mCharge technology that can charge up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes. It also includes sensors such as gravity sensor, IR proximity sensor, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, and digital compass.
