Detel, an Indian Feature Phone manufacturer last week launched a new budget feature phone named Detel D1 in collaboration with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). The phone was launched with a Rs.499 Prepaid pack from BSNL. Consumers have to pay only Rs. 499 for this phone along with the Plan.
Even though, the Pack is of Rs.499/- the actual cost of the Plan is Rs.153 and the remaining Rs.349 effectively the cost of the mobile phone. With this pack, consumers will get a first time recharge validity of 365 days. All the calls to the BSNL numbers will be at 15 paisa per minute and all the calls to other network will be at 40 paisa per minute. Other than the reduced call rates, customers are also getting Rs.103 talk time too. A 28 days personal personal ring back tone is also provided with this pack.

This is another move from BSNL to compete with Jio Phone, but the Jio Phone is dominant here, since the BSNL is providing only calling and SMS feature with this mobile, where as Jio Phone have the unlimited calling and SMS along with Free Data also.
Commenting on the Partnership with Detel, a BSNL spokesperson said, “We are committed to providing affordable and efficient services to our customers. We aim to strengthen our reach in all the nooks and corners of the country. With this partnership, we aim to tap the untapped section who still feels that owning a phone is a luxury”

Coming to the specification, the Detel D1 is a single SIM feature phone which sports a 1.44-inch monochrome display. This mobile is packed with a 650mAh battery. The Detel D1 also features like torch light, phonebook, FM radio, speaker, and vibration mode.
