In the last World Mobile Congress, Google announced their two new application which is going to be released in the market this year, the Google Duo and Google Allo, The Google Duo was entirely dedicated for video calling where as Allo is for messaging.
Now Google released the Google Duo application, which is a simple 1-to-1 video calling app. The application is available for both IOS and Android. The main feature of this application is its simplicity, it doesn’t have much complicated part. While opening the app, your video camera will automatically initiates. Clicking on the Video call button will show you the contacts where you can click on the other Duo user. One additional feature is that, while you are calling a person, even before he or she answers your call he/she can see you.
The company started rolling out the application now and it is not available all over. According to the company, it will soon available worldwide. Main features of the application includes
- Simple interface : Pick a loved one and jump right in, with a simple interface that brings video to the forefront.
- Knock Knock : See the caller before you pick up with Duo’s live preview feature.
- High quality video : Experience faster and more reliable video calls whether you’re on Wi-Fi or on-the-go.
- Cross-platform : Video call all your friends across Android and iOS with just one simple app.
In my personal experience, the video quality is superb and consistent. Download the application from Google PlayStore or Appstore. Install it, then register with your mobile number, enjoy video calling. The new Google Duo will be a best alternative for IMO too.
