Reports saying that UC Browser Found to Leak User Personal Details and Other Data

Reports by the Canadian Technology Research Group named “Citizen Labs” says that, UC Browser, the one of the most popular Mobile browser is found to leak users personal details and other sensitive details. UC Browser owned by Chinese company called Alibaba Group having around 500 Million users around the world.

Citizen Labs says that the English and Chinise version of UC Browser is found to leak the details and it is made available to 3rd party where users personal details, device identification, IMEI numbers and cellular identification etc.

Alibaba spokesman Bob Christie said the problems were immediately fixed and customers notified of an update to the browser after Citizen Lab brought the issues to Alibaba’s attention in April.

“We take security very seriously and we do everything possible to protect our users,” he said.
